Women ADV Riders New Year Moto Resolutions

Happy new year, fabulous adventuresses! As we roll into 2018, we put together a New Year moto resolutions list.

Get inspired, and add your own!

  1. Ride

That’s right: simply ride! Whatever it is – a daily commute, a weekend road trip, a day on the trails, or an epic RTW adventure, just ride, and enjoy the hell out of it. It’s so easy to get stuck in a rut, begin doubting your skills, or simply feel uninspired…but we’re here to help. In 2018, we promise to bring you even more travel inspiration, exciting tales of adventure, and practical motorcycling tips and advice!

  1. Boost Your Self-Confidence

“Self-confidence can make or break your ride”, – said one of our heroines, Jess Sjiriki Zekusn, a fearless adventure rider from Belgium. And she wasn’t wrong: when you feel like you’ve got this, you can ride anything, anywhere. So check out our Adventure is Attitude campaign, get inspired, and get going – we’re here to cheer you along!

  1. Take Care of Yourself

Ride your own ride! You’ve heard this before, and you’ve probably heard it many times – but are you practicing radical self-love? ADV Woman Pat Jacques is all about empowering women through motorcycling, so listen to her advice, always be yourself, and ride your own bike at your own pace.

  1. Get Out Of Your Comfort Zone

Risk is scary, but adventure is rewarding. You don’t need to ride around the world solo or conquer Baja 1000 to test yourself to the max, but do challenge yourself with smaller, more achievable tasks. Unsure about wild-camping? Grab your riding buddy and head for the nearest state park over the weekend. Don’t feel too comfortable about riding sand? Sign up for an off-road riding class! Whatever you do, venture out of your comfort zone, and dare to explore.

  1. Give back

Women’s motorcycling community is incredible: we love helping each other out, sharing the love, and building each other up. So join in the goodness:  take part in a charity ride, help fix your neighbor’s bike, or share your moto-camping, riding, or traveling tips and advice on Women ADV Riders! We love hearing from you, so whatever idea you have, just drop us a line and let’s talk!

  1. Celebrate

No, we don’t just mean the New Years champagne. Celebrate each and every day: practice gratitude, notice joy in the smallest of things, and bless each ridden mile, whatever the destination.

  1. Learn a new skill

Even if you’re a veteran rider, there’s always something new you can learn! Off-road riding classes, wilderness survival training, bike maintenance lessons, navigation skills – whatever you choose, learning something new will enrich your motorcycling experience and make you a better adventure rider.
